Talulah and Hess was founded in April 2002, beginning its journey in a modest space within the Lakewood Shopping Center. The idea for the store was born out of the owner’s, Elizabeth Mast, personal experience and a desire to transform the way people shop for gifts and essentials. But Elizabeth’s vision went far beyond mere retail. She dreamed of creating a welcoming neighborhood experience—a “retail escape”—where customers could cultivate connections with one another and with the shop itself.

In September 2017, the store relocated to its current address at 5810 Live Oak St, and in October 2023, it expanded by acquiring the neighboring space. This space has allowed for the growth of our services by adding the store’s Design Resource Center.

Talulah and HESS prides itself on fulfilling Elizabeth’s original vision and being more than just a store, it has become a vibrant hub where people can discover meaningful pieces for every occasion, whether for their homes or as personal gifts. At its heart, the boutique fosters a sense of belonging and community engagement, actively supporting local causes and gatherings.
